My interest in Oakland's Swampdonkey was fate: his photography made their introductions with the cover of the most excellent Small Black/Washed Out 7" (Lovepump United)—a 45 on constant blast here at SDHQ.

"I let small black and washed out use an image of mine for a split 7'' they just put out. It's a rarity for me to allow a band to use my work but it's also a rarity that a band asks to use a photo of mine rather than trying to commission me to do an original drawing."

But as I googled past the sleeve, a rad new artist came to view, one with an affinity for faded colours ad monsters of burly design. His flickr drips with mixed-media gems, from the wooly sons of 90s skate imagery to gorgeously composed collages.

Hours will be lost.
