You Make Me So Happy

There are moments I criticize my choices in layout, if only to show-off kids killing in the negative.

Exhibit A: Nicholas Sassoon.

How much work does Sassoon put into mimicking a cruder form of animation? Don't answer that.

His undulating gifs and flash loops harken back to the MS-DOS horizons of gaming's infancy, from the CGA converyor belts of SEGA's Zaxxon to the ominous pixels of Eric Chahi's Another World (and Delpine Software's spiritual sequel, Flashback). I'd shed tears, but they'd just flicker away.
